This map covers an area spanning Sweden, Finland, and Norway in the border region around Treriksröset, the northernmost point of Sweden.
One side features a mountain map at a scale of 1:50,000, showing numerous marked hiking trails and mountain huts in both Sweden and Norway, including the Nordkalott Trail between Kilpisjärvi and Dærtahytta. The other side is at a scale of 1:25,000 and covers the popular day-hiking area around Kilpisjärvi and Treriksröset, including classic summit hikes such as Saana and Pikku-Malla.
The map is part of a new generation of mountain maps based on terrain data derived from airborne laser scanning. In addition to completely new contour lines with intervals of 5 and 10 metres, features such as streams, rivers, and steep slopes are presented with significantly greater clarity than before. Trails are shown with improved accuracy, as are wetlands, buildings, rocky terrain, and dense vegetation that is difficult to traverse.
Calazo maps are printed on Tyvek, a synthetic fibre material that makes the map completely waterproof and highly tear-resistant. A Tyvek map will not tear along fold lines or lose its colour through use.
