A mountain map at a scale of 1:100,000 gives a superior overview of large areas and is particularly suitable when planning a longer trip. Many snowmobilers prefer 1:100,000 because they travel longer distances on their trips. 1 cm on the map corresponds to 1 km in the terrain.
