This guide consists of a guidebook and a map which together give you the information you need for hiking in Hossa National Park and the Kylmäluoma hiking area.
Hossa is Finland's newest national park. It has 90 kilometres of marked trails for hiking, skiing and cycling, and can be visited year-round. The book describes all marked trails in the national park and hiking area, as well as the Eastern Border Trail, which runs from Viena Karelian villages to the Värikallio rock paintings.
The enclosed map is printed on waterproof, tear-proof Tyvek. The hikes described in the book are marked on the map.
The book is written by Tommi Sirviö, a physical geographer born and raised in Kainuu. He has written several guidebooks published by Calazo.

Map scale
- 1:100,000 gives a better overview of larger areas.
- 1:50,000 is suitable for mountain hiking.
- 1:25,000 is used for detailed orientation, for example when following paths, mountain terrain or smaller trails.
