In western Härjedalen, the conditions are perfect for easy mountain hiking. Often the hike starts at the tree line or even up on Calf Mountain, where you can immediately enjoy open spaces in all weathers.

The book's hikes go in the area from Helags in the north to Rogen in the south and from Sonfjället in the east to Røros in the west. All tours can be done during the day starting from Funäsdalen.

As a mountain hiker here, you are wise not to worry about the border between Norway and Sweden. About a quarter of the book's tours are in the mountains between the national border and Røros in Norway, a fantastic mountain area that is surprisingly unknown among both tourists and residents.
