Vassfaret is a scenic valley located between Buskerud and Innlandet. The area offers numerous rewarding hiking destinations and is known for its unspoiled nature, countless lakes, forests and abundant wildlife. The Vassfarstien Trail is a waymarked hiking route stretching 116 kilometres from the centre of Hønefoss to Fønhuskoia. The trail is divided into seven stages, each ending at a mountain cabin for overnight accommodation.

This hiking map has been produced in collaboration with DNT Ringerike, which manages several of the cabins along the trail, including Storekrakkoia, Vassfarkoia and Fønhuskoia.

Map scale
  • 1:100,000 gives a better overview of larger areas.
  • 1:50,000 is suitable for mountain hiking.
  • 1:25,000 is used for detailed orientation, for example when following paths, mountain terrain or smaller trails.
