Hedmarksvidda is the southernmost extension of the mountain ridge between Østerdalen and Gudbrandsdalen, where the open mountain plateau gradually gives way to forested hills stretching between Lake Mjøsa and the Glomma River towards Romerike. The area is crossed by the Rondanestien Trail, a popular waymarked hiking route linking Hedmarken with Oslo in the south and Rondane National Park in the north.
The map has been produced in collaboration with Hamar og Hedemarken Turistforening and is part of Calazo's modern map series. Its unique terrain information is based on airborne laser scanning, providing exceptional topographic detail. The content has been quality assured by local experts and verified using high-resolution aerial imagery. Several previously unmapped trails have also been surveyed and included.

Map scale
- 1:100,000 gives a better overview of larger areas.
- 1:50,000 is suitable for mountain hiking.
- 1:25,000 is used for detailed orientation, for example when following paths, mountain terrain or smaller trails.
