OPPTUR YTRE SUNNMØRE is a treasure trove of great hiking experiences. Large and small islands lie like pearls on a string, both south and north of Ålesund. Here there is open landscape, beautiful hiking terrain and views in all directions. Further inland the vegetation is richer, the slopes steeper and the peaks higher, with the cream peak Lauparen in the Ørskogfjella at 1434 m. as the highest mountain hike in the book.

OPPTUR YTRE SUNNMØRE contains 160 hikes, of which 141 are hiking and 19 cycling. The following municipalities/areas are included: Sande, Herøy, Ulstein, Hareid, Sula, Giske, Ålesund, Skodje, Ørskog, Haram and Sandøy. OPPTUR YTRE SUNNMØRE has both easy and more demanding hikes. All the tours are drawn on aerial photographs, with a detailed tour description, stated difficulty level, length and stipulated tour time. The book shows exactly where the tours start and where the routes go.
