Karhunkierros & Oulanka

The book presents Karhunkierros, Finland’s most famous hiking trail, as well as the lesser-known Topsakantaival route. It also provides a broad introduction to the nature and history of Oulanka National Park. Each route includes a detailed map that can be downloaded to a mobile phone.

Jouni Laaksonen is an outdoor writer, wilderness guide and engineer based in Kuhmo. He has explored the wilderness areas and hiking destinations of northern Finland for many years and has written around twenty books and hundreds of articles about his experiences. His main interests are wilderness areas, long-distance hiking, national parks, family outings and wilderness huts.

Jouni Laaksonen is a highly regarded author, skilled nature photographer and sought-after speaker. In 2016, he was awarded the Finnish non-fiction prize Tietokirjailijapalkinto. He has previously written Calazo’s hiking guide to Kiilopää and Saariselkä.
