Real mountain food should be able to last in your backpack for several days, it should be easy to carry and not take up too much space in your pack. Each meal must also be full of energy so that you can recover and have the strength to hike another day.

All the recipes in this book are adapted for mountain hiking. The focus is on how to make your own dishes from scratch, either by drying certain ingredients yourself or by finding smart products in the store that can be included in the recipes. You will also learn the importance of planning your meals, preparing as much as possible at home and packing your food in the best way.

The recipes are divided by how long they take to cook, from dishes that only require you to pour boiling water to dishes that you cook in half an hour. At the end of the book there are chapters on energy cookies, delicious desserts and how you can easily bake in the mountains.

Author Eric Tornblad has been hiking since his teens, recently with increasingly lighter packing and an increasing emphasis on good food. Eric has also written the books Efterrätt på tur, Torka mat, Energibars, Snabblagat på tur and Eldmat.
